Alvin Ailey 60th Anniversary Season 2018

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre’s 60th Anniversary Season is at New York City Center in Midtown, Manhattan from November 28 – December 30, 2018.

Alvin Ailey celebrates its 60th Anniversary with a series of premieres by acclaimed choreographers:

  • Rennie Harris brings Lazarus, based on the life and legacy of Alvin Ailey. It is the Company’s first two-act composition.
  • Ronald K. Brown mixes modern and African dance in The Call.
  • Wayne McGregor presents the Company premiere of his contemporary ballet Kairos.
  • Jessica Lang provides EN, her first piece for Ailey

60th Anniversary Gala Performance with Dinner & Dancing

Alvin Ailey’s 60th Anniversary opening night Gala performance is followed by dinner and cancing in the Grand Ballroom at the New York Hilton Midtown Wednesday, November 28, 2018. From $2,000. Performance only tickets are also available.

The special program includes a performance of the “Becoming Ailey” multimedia piece, highlights of Ailey choreography, a pièce d’occasion by Artistic Director Robert Battle, and a performance of Ailey’s signature work Revelations with a live band and gospel choir featuring Erica Campbell, Kenny Lattimore, Ledisi and Brandie Sutton.

Proceeds benefit new choreography, the Ailey School and Ailey educational programs for children.

Alvin Ailey New York City Center 2018 Tickets

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, September 4 at 12 noon.

There are no handling fees for tickets purchased at the box office. There is a $6.75 per ticket fee for tickets to one performance, or $20 per order when ordering tickets for two or more performances at the same time.

$15 Student Tickets are available at the Box Office from 12 noon to curtain time on the day of the show (except November 28 – 29 and December 30). On ticket per valid student ID. Subject to availability.
