Williams is a classically trained guitarist. After his baseball career, he earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

Williams was a New York Yankees center fielder from 1991 to 2006.
He played in four Yankees World Series, was a five-time MLB All-Star and won four Golden Glove Awards.
