About Robert Browning Associates
In 1976, Robert Browning Associates were one of the first to produce “world music” events in New York City. In 1985, they helped found the World Music Institute.
We are reluctant to say anyone is the first because advancements in human culture tend to occur in multiple, disconnected places, around the same time. But from what we know, Robert and Helene Browning really were the pioneers of world music/global music. It’s an honor to work with them.
The Grammys now call the category “global music.” Whatever you call it, Robert and Helene Browning are legendary producers.
