Diana Ayala is a Puerto Rican New York City Council member

Diana Ayala is a Puerto Rican-American candidate for the New York City Council District 8.

She was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and moved to New York City as a child. Ayala was raised in public housing and the shelter system. She took control of her life by enrolling in Bronx Community College.

Ayala became a community center director and eventually Deputy Chief of Staff for City Council Speaker Mark-Viverito.

Ayala is a Democrat.
