The 2018 Midterm Elections elect:

  • The entire U.S. House of Representatives
  • 35 U.S. Senators
  • 39 State Governors
  • Many state and local positions

Midterm elections are so-called because they fall in the middle of the president’s four-year term.

These Midterm elections are particularly important because state governors will control how voting districts are redrawn after the 2020 census.

According to the Pew Research Center, 27.3 million Latinos represented 11% of eligible voters in the last Federal election in 2016.

We had the largest increase in eligible voters of any racial or ethnic group. Latino voters increased in the battleground states of Arizona, Florida and Nevada.

However, our impact is blunted by the fact that less than 50 percent of Hispanic eligible voters actually vote. Whites and Blacks vote at rates above 60 percent.

So we didn’t vote and we got Trump.
