Manhattan’s Financial District is below Chambers Street and the Brooklyn Bridge. The dollar sign $ is descended from the Spanish dollar. European and Latin American companies list on the New York Stock Exchange.

The World Trade Center Transportation Hub was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Cuban-American José Parlá painted the mural at One World Trade Center. The Statue of Liberty was a made by a French artist. The Charging Bull statue was made by an Italian artist. The American Merchant Mariners’ Memorial was made by Venezuelan artist Marisol Escobar. The National Museum of the American Indian exhibits art from Latin America.

Schimmel Center occasionally presents performances by Latin artists.

Brookfield Place houses Gucci, Hermès, and Salvatore Ferragamo stores. Felina Shoes sells Tango shoes from Buenos Aires is in Battery Park.

The library at Poets House has Latin poets. Le District houses French markets and restaurants.

Broadway is the old Indian trail. It runs from the old trading post where the National Museum of the American Indian is now all the way up Manhattan to the old Indian village in Inwood, and then up the Hudson River to Albany.

Water St becomes Pearl St which becomes the Bowery. That was the old coast road north to Boston.
