Frieze is a major annual contemporary art fair produced by frieze, a magazine about contemporary art. Frieze London is in October. Frieze New York is in May. Several art fairs run during “Frieze Week” in New York.

Frieze New York 2017
Frieze New York 2017 adds modern art to the mix this year. The big white tent is at Randall’s Island Friday through Sunday, May 5-7. Tickets are available from $10.
Global Latin galleries showing this year include Chantal Crousel of Paris, France; and Acquavella and Castelli Gallery of New York. Galerie Meyer – Oceanic Art of Paris is showing tribal art.
Latin American galleries Proyectos Ultravioleta of Guatemala City, Galeria Luisa Strina of São Paulo, Brazil and Walden of Buenos Aires are making their fair debuts. Returning Latin American galleries include Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel of São Paulo, Brazil; Instituto de Visión of Bogotá, Colombia; and Mendes Wood DM of São Paulo, Brazil.
Fair Organizers
The fair is organized by Frieze Fairs Director Victoria Siddall with Artistic Directors Abby Bangser and Jo Stella-Sawicka.
Cecilia Alemani of High Line Art and the Italian Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale is organizing Frieze Projects.

Tribute
This year’s tribute is dedicated to Galleria La Tartaruga in Rome. It features a daily restaging of the gallery’s experimental exhibition “Il Teatro delle Mostre” (1968) including new commissions by Ryan McNamara and Adam Pendleton.
Talks
There is a symposium panel: “Discussing Latin American and Latino Art” Friday, May 5 at 9:15am.
It is followed by another panel: “Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960-1985″ Friday, May 5 at 10:30am.
