Latin Classical Music

Latin classical music is being discovered by young people in its contemporary forms, but something else is happening in New York.

Legendary Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel takes the baton at the New York Philharmonic in 2026. Dudamel doesn’t just conduct, he builds communities, and is already triggering a classical music renaissance in New York City.

In addition to great Latin interpreters of European classical music, there are great Latin American composers who look to folk traditions for inspiration.

Opera is a classical music theatre.

Jazz and classical music are two sides of the same coin. Artists and venues are renewing the classical form through jazz.
