Mario de Camillis is an Argentine Tango teacher and performer.
He came to prominence by winning the Vals and Milonga categories and coming in second in Tango Salon at the 2011 Campeonato Metropolitano de Baile de Tango in Buenos Aires (the Buenos Aires city Tango championships). De Camillis has also been a finalist several times at the Mundial, the Tango World Championships in Buenos Aires.
De Camillis trained with some of the old milongueros and new stars of the Tango Renaissance generation. One of De Camillis’ teachers was Milonga con traspié (triple beat) specialist Omar Vega who dancers of a certain age will remember from his days in New York City.
De Camillis now works between Buenos Aires, New York, and Berlin. Berlin has one of the strongest Tango scenes in Europe.
