New York City Ballet’s Spring 2017 season ends with a Midsummer Night’s Dream


New York City Ballet is one of the world’s great ballet companies. It has it’s own unique Balanchine style, the Broadway influence of Jerome Robbins, and carries on the founders’ commitment to collaborating with the best contemporary artists of the day.

The New York City Ballet Spring 2017 season is at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, April 18 through May 28, 2017.

Latin Dancers

New York City Ballet has some great Latin dancers.

Principal dancer Joaquin De Luz is from Madrid, Spain.

Principal dancer Ana Sophia Scheller is from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Soloist Antonio Carmena is from Madrid, Spain.

Corps dancer Aaron Sanz is from Madrid, Spain.

Corps dancer Giovanni Villalobos is from Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.

New York City Ballet Spring 2017

The season opens with All Balanchine and All Robbins programs April 18-23.

Here/Now Festival

The season’s centerpiece is the Here/Now Festival of contemporary ballets, April 25 through May 21.

The Here/Now Festival includes performances of Colombian-Belgian international choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Unframed, Wednesday, May 17 at 7:30pm and Friday, May 19 at 8pm.

Spanish Principal Gonzalo Garcia performs in Neverwhere, and Puerto Rican Corps dancer Sebastian Villarini-Velez performs in Mothership, Tuesday, May 9 at 7:30pm.

Spanish Soloist Antonio Carmena performs in The Blue of Distance, and Spanish Principal Gonzalo Garcia performs in Pictures at an Exhibition, and Spanish Principal Joaquin De Luz performs in Year of the Rabbit, Wednesday, May 10 at 7:30pm.

Spanish Principal Gonzalo Garcia performs in Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes, Thursday, May 11 at 7:30pm.

Spanish Principals Joaquin De Luz and Gonzalo Garcia perform in Slice to Sharp. Garcia also performs in the Stevens/Peck world premiere of The Decalogue. Puerto Rican Corps dancer Giovanni Villalobos performs in Chiaroscuro, Friday, May 12 at 8pm.
