Danny Bensusan opened the Blue Note in 1981.
Legends like Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughn, Lionel Hampton and Oscar Peterson made the Blue Note one of NYC’s leading jazz clubs.
To celebrate it’s 30th anniversary in 2011, the Blue Note started the Blue Note Jazz Festival in June.
