Central Park opens at 6am. No kidding. There is also a daily in-person lottery at the Public Theater in NoHo. More Than Shakespeare
The Delacorte is an 1,800-seat open-air theater facing the Turtle Pond and Belvedere Castle. It presents two Shakespeare productions every summer.
This is more than great theatre. The Public Theater’s curation of Shakespeare is itself commentary on the social issues of the day. The Public always says something with the plays they choose to stage each year.
The model for this type of educational outdoor theatre is Greco-Roman.
