Portugal Day Festival Newark

An assistant to the Newark City Council confirmed on June 8 that there is no Portugal Day Festival this year, but the parade will be huge. There are giant puppets, marching bands, dance groups and more.

CORRECTION: We are not sure why we were told there is no Festival this year, because there is. @CityofNewarkNJ on Twitter.

Portuguese restaurant Sol-Mar is hosting its own Portugal Day celebration at the restaurant from June 10-12. Performers include Portuguese cowboy Zé Amaro, and music by accordionist Filomena Raposo, Os RED and Licínio Ferraria and Aléxy. solmar-restaurant.com
