The Golden Globes by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) recognize excellence in film and television.

They are influential because the award ceremony is right in the middle of the Oscar campaign. Artists like the Globes’ dinner format because it gives them a chance to mix and mingle with industry peers.

75th Golden Globes

The 75th Golden Globes were broadcast live on NBC from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on January 7, 2018 at 8 pm ET. Seth Myers hosted the show.

Most artists dressed in black to draw attention our #MeToo moment. Women were the big winners of the night. Oprah Winfrey gave a rousing speech.

The film industry has been severely criticized for a lack of diversity and the Henry Weinstein sexual predator situation. It’s good to see artists finally take a stand.

Many stars made reference to the Time’s Up legal defense fund (www.timesupnow.com) for victims of sexual harassment or related retaliation in the workplace.

Evil only has power when it is kept hidden in the shadows. Change begins when we bring everything on the table in the light. Keep the conversation going. #MeToo #TimesUp
