New York City’s African American Day Parade in Harlem celebrates African culture and the contributions of African-Americans.


50th African American Day Parade 2019

The 50th African American Day Parade marches on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd (Seventh Ave) from 111th St to 136th St in Harlem, NYC on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 1pm to 6pm. FREE

Reviewing Stand

The Reviewing Stand is at 125th St in front of the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building.

Parade Announcers are Olivia Sanders (Journalist and O Girl Media founder), and Dr. Bob Lee (WBLS Community Affairs Director).

Pre-parade performances are here from 12pm to 1pm. At 1pm, Melba Moor will open the parade singing Lift Every Voice and Sing.

Reviewing Stand tickets are available for honorary guests and seniors from the community on the three Saturdays before the parade at the Malcom Shabazz Cultural Center.

Parade Theme

Parade honorees are people who support the African American Community in politics and government.
