Explore African NYC (African American is its own thing) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, Studio Museum, The Africa Center, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, CCCADI ~ Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute, Little Senegal, and more. Yale art history professor Robert Farris Thompson called New York, “The Secret African City” because the Diaspora has created a parallel universe. Once you learn to see it, you begin to see it everywhere. Most Latin culture has African roots, and so does American culture. In fact, the African American tradition jazz defines us as Americans. ¡Aché!
