Afropunk is Brooklyn’s African punk rock festival.
It blends music, art and politics into a global youth movement in Atlanta, London, Johannesburg and Paris. Described as “a safe place, a blank space” the party is an entire weekend of young Africa. Everybody is African and so everybody goes too.
Two days of Afropunk throw more style than an entire Fashion Week. The music is good too.
Afropunk Brooklyn gets over 70,000 people together in Commodore Barry Park every year. The Brooklyn Navy Yard and Fort Greene really get going. It’s the end of summer.
