She’s going to play Astor Piazzolla’s Oblivion. That I would like to hear. It is one of the most haunting pieces of music ever. It reminds us that life is short and the days pass quickly.
The program also includes Granados, Albéniz, Carlos Gardel, Bernstein and other great Latin composers.

Aisha Syed Castro is from Santiago, Dominican Republic. She is Pakistani-Dominican.
Genius usually shows itself early. The young artist debuted with the Dominican Symphony Orchestra in Santiago when she was just eleven years old. She was the first Latin American to be accepted at the Yehudi Menuhin School of music for child prodigies in London.
Today Syed performs as a soloist with symphonies on the great stages of the world. She is an ambassador for the violin, the Dominican Republic, Latin culture and our common humanity.
