America’s entire creative community is responding to our #MeToo moment and Alvin Ailey is right there with four choreographies that celebrate women.

EN (World Premiere)

This world premiere by renowned ballet choreographer Jessica Lang explores the circular nature of fate, destiny and karma. EN is a Japanese word that describes this.

Lang’s 100th ballet is her first for the Company. It is set to electronic music by Jakub Ciupinski.

You might say, “what goes around, comes around.”

A Case of You (2005, New Production)

This is the most intimate duet by Judith Jamison set to music by Joni Mitchell.

Shelter (1992, New Production)

This work by Jawole Will Jo Zollar (1992) that examines the pain of homelessness. It is set to music by Junior “Gabu” Wedderburn and Victor See Yuen.

Revelations (1960)

The Company’s signature work by Alvin Ailey himself is set to traditional American spirituals. It is the world’s most seen modern dance.
