Battery Dance Festival is an annual free international dance festival produced in August by Battery Dance Company at Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park in Battery Park City and Schimmel Center in Manhattan’s Financial District.

About 12,000 people watch dancers perform on a custom-built stage in the park with the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor as a backdrop. The stage is a metaphor for using dance to find personal and collective freedom. Ironically, in one we find the other.

Battery Dance Company does arts-in-education work in New York City and has a truly impressive record of international cultural exchange.
