The group was founded in Los Angeles in 1995.

will.i.am is African-American. apl.de.ap is Filipino-African-American. Taboo is Mexican-American. Fergie is Irish-Scottish-English-Mexican-Native American.

Their third album “Elephunk” (2003) broke out with their first major hit “Where is the Love?”

“Monkey Business” (2005) went 4x Platinum.

“The E.N.D.” (The Energy Never Dies, 2009) produced a string of hits “Boom Boom Pow,” “I Gotta Feeling,” “Meet Me Halfway,” “Imma Be,” “Rock That Body,” and “Missing You.”

“The Beginning” (2010) produce hits “The Time (Dirty Bit),” “Just Can’t Get Enough,” and “Don’t Stop the Party.”

In 2016, the Peas remade their first hit “Where is the Love” with a host of celebrities. They redid the song in response to the 2016 terror attacks on people and police. All proceeds go to the I.Am.Angel Foundation.
