Blackout Tuesday is a Day to Reconnect with Our Communities In Memory of George Floyd

Blackout Tuesday in memory of George Floyd

Blackout Tuesday on June 2, 2020, is a social media protest in solidarity with the George Floyd protest movement.

Americans are posting black boxes on social media to indicate they are reconnecting with their communities today instead of doing social media.

People are using the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag, but this is impacting Black Lives Matter organizing, so PLEASE DON’T USE THE #BLACKLIVESMATTER hashtag.

Coming Together is the Solution to our Problems

This is where the solution to our problem is – in coming together, not fighting.

The saddest thing we have witnessed is Black mothers crying that there is nothing they can do to protect their children from police harassment and even murder.

The most beautiful thing we have witnessed is police joining protesters. This is the way forward.
