Bronx Music Heritage Center is a Community Center that Presents the Cultural Diversity of The Bronx

The Bronx Music Heritage Center (BMHC) is a community cultural center with dance, music, spoken word, theater and more in Crotona Park East, The Bronx. Many programs are low cost or free.

It’s a small, but vibrant community led by Puerto Ricans who support the many cultures of The Bronx. It’s not fancy, but if you’re looking for the real thing, la cultura del pueblo, it’s here. Major artists occasionally perform or stop by. It’s that special.

About

This community cultural center presents some of the most diverse programming in New York City. It was founded by WHEDco, the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation. That’s important because women are the guardians of culture.

Elena Martínez, the folklorist of The Bronx, and Bobby Sanabria, multi-Grammy nominated jazz drummer, educator, and radio host are co-directors. The advisory board is full of heavy hitters from The Bronx, including: hip-hop and salsa photographer Joe Conzo, Jr, Grandmaster Caz (Cold Crush Brothers), rapper Patty Dukes and Reph Star (Circa 95), and many more cultural leaders.
