The girls have been rockin’ the house since the beginning of hip-hop. The boys tend to steal the show, but women are the guardians of culture. Think MC Lyte, Roxanne Shante, Cindy Campbell, Sha-Rock, Sylvia Robinson, Salt-N-Pepa, and so many more.
The Def Roots of Hip-Hop
Hip-hop comes from The Bronx, but it also comes from Jamaica, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Many Americans look at us and think we’re different, but we look at Americans and recognize our culture as the Def Def roots of all this. Why did you want to party anyway? Because you want to meet us ladies.
You have to leave America to understand, or get down with the ladies of the CCCADI. They know. The women know everything.
And bring your girls. This is family Sou Sou Saturdays. Do it because your little girl may be up next on the mic. Just got to start her on the right path, and that path is with the sisters of the community at Sou Sou Saturdays.
