Chris Botti is a Grammy-winning, New York Italian, trumpet player who is one of America’s most popular jazz instrumentalists. His name is pronounced “bow-tee.”

Botti tours constantly from his New York City home. He has played a holiday gig at the Blue Note for so many years, it’s become a New York holiday tradition.

Chris Botti plays “My Favorite Things” with Yo-Yo Ma.

Botti lived in Italy for several years as a child. He started playing music in college, touring with Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich.

Botti then joined Paul Simon’s band for the 1990s and toured with Sting in 1999 – 2000.

2004’s “When I Fall in Love,” made Botti one of the top-selling American instrumental artists. He has close ties with PBS and has crossed over into pop music.

Italia (2007)

The album hit #1 on the U.S. jazz charts. It earned a 2008 Grammy nomination for “Best Pop Instrumental Album.”
