Chus Burés is Part of La Movida Madrileña

Chus Burés is a world-renowned Spanish jewelry designer. He got his start during La Movida Madrileña, the cultural explosion in 1980s Madrid that also brought fame to iconic film director Pedro Almodóvar and fashion legend Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada.

Chus went global when Almodóvar commissioned him to design a hairpin that was used in the movie Matador (1986).

Since then Chus has represented Spain at the Venice Biennale and designed jewelry for a who’s who list of celebrities in the film, fashion and art worlds.

He has collaborated with many renowned artists including Louise Bourgeois (France), Jesús Soto and Carlos Cruz–Díez (Venezuela), Julio Le Parc (Argentina), Carmen Herrera (Cuba), Tony Bechara (Puerto Rico), Miquel Barceló and Santiago Sierra (Spain).

Today Chus designs out of Madrid, New York and Paris. His latest collection Chus X Chus makes Chus designs accessible for a new generation of style.
