Clarissa Bruns is an award-winning MPB (Brazilian pop) singer from Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. She sent us this song and we loved it. It feels like bossa nova at the beginning, but opens its wings into a lovely samba. We cannot sit still listening to Clarissa and Grazzi sing.
So “Todo Mundo é Negro.” The whole world is Black. It’s true. The entire human race is from Africa, and Brazil has the world’s largest African diaspora. When Clarissa and Grazzi sing together, we become one in the samba.
Clarissa and Grazzi sing about Capoeira, the Afro-Brazilian martial art disguised as a dance. Capoeira isn’t just a fight or a dance. It is a cultural manifestation of the spirit of Brazil.
