Colombia soccer is ranked No. 16 in the world by FIFA as of June 2018. “Los Cafeteros” play from Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla, Colombia.

We have a friendly rivalry with Argentina and a not-so-friendly one with Brazil. We like to tease Argentina about their 5-0 defeat at the 1994 World Cup qualifier in their home stadium. If you see an Argentine, hold up the five fingers of your hand and smile.

Our best showing at the World Cup was reaching the quarterfinals at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Colombia World Cup 2018 Round of 16

Colombia plays England in the World Cup 2018 Round of 16 on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 2 pm ET.

Colombia filled the stadium. James did not suit up. The game got a bit rough as the American referee M. Geiger lost control of things. Things went badly when Harry Kane scored on a penalty in the 57th minute. Mina made the equalizer in stoppage time. 30 minutes of extra time weren’t enough.

In the penalty shootout, England’s Henderson missed the third shot. But then Colombia’s Uribe and Bacca missed so it was over.
