The Colombian Film Festival NY is an annual festival of new Colombian cinema. It’s the biggest Colombian film festival outside of Colombia.
The Festival was founded by Juan Carvajal in 2013. He is the co-founder and artistic director of IndieBo, the Bogotá Independent Film Festival in Colombia.

The 6th Colombian Film Festival NY is at Cinépolis Chelsea in Chelsea, Manhattan from Thursday – Sunday, March 22 – 25, 2018.
The Festival has Fiction, Documentary, Short Film, and Classics sections.
Opening Night ~ Ciro & Yo
The festival opens with a red carpet screening of Ciro & Yo. at Cinépolis Chelsea at 7:30 pm.
The screening is followed by a reception at Peruvian restaurant Raymi in Manhattan’s Flatiron District with Colombian Rumba Flamenca band Nilko Andreas & LaMar.
Ciro y Yo
Ciro Galindo was born on August 29th, 1952 in Colombia. Wherever he’s gone, war has found him. After twenty years of friendship, I understood Ciro‘s life sums up Colombia’s history. Like so many Colombians, he is a survivor who has run away from war for more than sixty years, and now dreams of living in peace. Ciro & Me is a journey to memory, seeking to give sorrow words; a journey, similar to that of Colombia in times of peace, a search to recover its dignity.
Special Presentation ~ El Inca
Ignacio Castillo Cottin’s 2016 Venezuelan film El Inca screens on March 23 at 8:40 pm.
El Inca is a tragic love story based on the life of the great Latin American boxer Edwin “El Inca” Valero. The only fight he lost, was the one against himself. The film shows a complex biographical drama about talent and charisma, love and ambition, excess and self-destruction. It was censored by the Venezuelan government.
