The festival opens with Carlos Ospina’s 2022 documentary “Viva Edy!” It’s the story of Edy Martinez, who was not only one of Colombia’s most important jazz pianists, but also an unrecognized, but important influence on Latin jazz in 1950s New York City. The film features commentary from many of the Fania All-Stars that everybody remembers. We should remember Edy Martinez too! $30
