Cornell Tech is an engineering graduate school on Roosevelt Island. It is a technology incubator associated with the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.


Cornell Tech is an Economic Development Initiative

Mayor Bloomberg noted that the success of Silicon Valley in California is fueled by talent from local universities like Stanford, the University of California, and California State University.

Bringing Cornell Tech to New York is an attempt to create a similar talent stream and fuel the growth of technology startups in New York City.

Cornell is the second-highest rated university in New York City (US News & World Report, 2018). It is ranked #14.


Cornell Tech Combines Engineering & Business

The Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute is the core of Cornell Tech. It is a joint venture of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.

The Jacobs Institute offers master degree programs in Connective Media and Health Tech. The programs have an entrepreneurial focus.

The Jacobs Institute Runway Program is a technology incubator that starts companies on campus.

Cornell Tech is a Growing Campus

Cornell Tech started operating in New York City in the Google building in Chelsea in 2012.

The first phase of the Roosevelt Island campus opened in 2017. The campus is scheduled for completion in 2037.
