Eduardo Navarro
Eduardo Navarro was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1979. He studied with Guillermo Kuitca at the University of Buenos Aires, and at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture under a UBS Art Scholarship.
Navarro has exhibited at Americas Society in New York, in galleries and biennials across Latin America, and in Europe.
Argentines have a gift for humor. Navarro expresses this in his art.

Eduardo Navarro Into Ourselves
Eduardo Navarro Into Ourselves opens with a reception at The Drawing Center in SoHo, Manhattan on Thursday, April 5 from 6 – 8 pm. The exhibition is on view Wednesday – Sunday through April 22.
This is interesting and funny. It makes you think.
Navarro is contemplating the holographic principle of quantum physics (the physics of very small and very large space – subatomic and galactic).
Here’s a definition of the holographic principle from Wikipedia.
The holographic principle is a principle of string theories and a supposed property of quantum gravity that states that the description of a volume of space can be thought of as encoded on a lower-dimensional boundary to the region—preferably a light-like boundary like a gravitational horizon.

In Into Ourselves, Navarro is producing edible drawings inspired by the holographic principle and making them digestible by putting them into a soup. The horizon line is obviously the top of the soup, the quantum soup.
That is so Latin. When we want to share, we make a soup.
Navarro challenges us to stop looking with our eyes and have a more visceral experience of art and life. A real dinner with the artist would probably be a deep experience.
