Farruquito

In traditional practice, flamenco is family and Farruquito is from a great flamenco family.

He is the grandson of El Farruco (1935-1997) one of the great dancers in flamenco history. El Farruco was himself the grandson of guitarist Ramon Montoya of the Montoya flamenco dynasty.

Farruquito made his international stage debut in the Broadway show ‘Flamenco Puro’ when he was just four years old. He likes to improvise because that’s the way flamenco is danced at home. As a teen, he was featured in Carlos Saura’s movie ‘Flamenco’ (1995) dancing with his grandfather.

In the movie clip, Farruquito enters the stage at 5 minutes.

He was born in Seville, Spain on August 15, 1982.
