Fernando do Campo “I Always Hear You Before I See You”

Fernando do Campo "Fictional Archive 1 (house sparrow)," 2016

Fernando do Campo is an Argentine artist and birdwatcher represented in New York City by Praxis Gallery.

An avid birdwatcher, Do Campo mixes that Argentine nostalgia and his love for bird-watching into abstract paintings at Praxis Gallery in Chelsea Jan 12 – Feb 6, 2017.

“I Always Hear You Before I See You” refers to the fact that Do Campo always hears the birds in a new place before he sees them. In that artsy way, Do Campo imagines the birds that he didn’t hear.
