Fleur Seule is a retro jazz band and salsa band led by Allyson Briggs, “The Glamour Girl of Jazz,” and “La Rubia de la Salsa.” (The Blonde of the Salsa). She is a talented multilingual cabaret singer.

Fleur Seule is a Trip Back to the 1940s

The band plays jazz, swing, ballroom and salsa in a presentation that channels 1940s glamour. The band’s name is French for “lonely flower.” Glamorous songbird Allyson Briggs is a real torch singer. She sings in seven languages.

The band plays memories by Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Edith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich, Dinah Shore, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis, Jr., Louis Armstrong, The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, and more.

Allyson Briggs of Fleur Seule wrote this during the pandemic. The song features over 43 NYC artists.

Briggs sings salsa too. She can take you to Old Havana or Old San Juan. We asked Allyson if she claims a Latin heritage. She told us she is Puerto Rican by marriage. Being another Boricua de corazón, we tease her about it, but Allyson says, “When I start to sing, they know.” ¡WEPA! 🇵🇷
