Forever Freestyle 16 Old School Latin Hip Hop at Lehman Center


Forever Freestyle is a concert of Freestyle stars produced by Sal Abbatiello of Fever Records.

Sal Abbatiello, the “Godfather of Freestyle,” has been producing freestyle since the beginning. He was the owner of The Devil’s Nest Latin dance club in The Bronx, where some of the artists in these concerts got their start.

Freestyle

Freestyle is an early form of Latin hip hop that developed in Brooklyn’s Puerto Rican and Italian communities in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Kids were moving away from their parents’ salsa towards this new thing called hip hop that was taking over.
