The Harlem Havana Music & Cultural Festival is at venues in Harlem and across metropolitan New York City from August 14-21, 2016.
Cuban culture is central to Latin culture. Cuba is where African, Spanish, and Native American culture first mixed into something we now call Latin. Salsa is Cuban music popularized by New York Puerto Ricans before going global in the 1970s.

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine Salutes Harlem Havana
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine salutes Cuban culture with a concert by the Harlem/Havana All-Stars with Baba Don, and The Color Purple musical.
The concert is Sunday, August 14 from 1:30-3pm at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine at112th St. and Amsterdam Avenue.
Harlem Havana Pop-up Art & Photographic Exhibit
See the beauty of Havana and Harlem through the eyes of Havana artist Eduardo Roca “Choco” Salazar and Harlem artist Ademola Olugebefola.
The exhibition is produced in partnership with the Center for Cuban Studies.
The exhibition runs from Tuesday, August 16 through Monday, August 29 in the Harlem Hospital Mural Pavilion at West 136th St. and Malcolm X Blvd.
Red Rooster Harlem Salutes Harlem Havana
Enjoy the rich tastes of Harlem and Havana with Cuban Chef Alex Garcia and the music of the Harlem Havana All-Stars and “Captain” Keith Gamble.

The Apollo Theater Salutes Harlem Havana
The world-famous Apollo Theater Amateur Night salutes Cuba! The show features the Harlem Havana All-Stars and Amateur Night contestants.

The Jazzmobile salutes Harlem Havana
The concert features the Cesar Lopez & Habana Ensemble and the JJ Folkloric Dance Company. Jaambo represents Harlem.
The Jazzmobile brings it to U.S. Grant National Memorial Park at West 122nd St and Riverside Drive on Wednesday, August 17 at 7pm.
Sylvia’s Restaurant Salutes Harlem Havana
Taste the flavors of Harlem and Cuba prepared by Cuban Chef Alex Garcia while swooning to the music of the Harlem Havana All-Stars and Janice Marie Robinson.

SummerStage Harlem salutes Harlem Havana
Summerstage Harlem and the JazzMobile present a free concert by Jorge Luis Pacheco y su Grupo, the JJ Folkloric Dance Company, and Yunior Terry Y Son de Altura with special guest Yosvany Terry and Jaambo.
The show is Thursday August 18 at 5:30pm at Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Plaza at 163 West 125th St in Harlem.
