Special Awards

Founders Award

Kevin Spacey will receive the 2017 International Emmy® Founders Award.

Grupo Televisa Chairman to Receive Directorate Award

Emilio Azcárraga Jean, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Grupo Televisa, the world’s largest Spanish-language content provider and Mexico’s largest broadcaster and pay television provider, will receive the 2017 International Emmy® Directorate Award.

[NOTE] Mexico, not Spain, is the world capital of Spanish-language media. The United States is #2.

Emilio Azcárraga Jean said: “Television dissolved the borders between the US and Mexico a long time ago. Technology has allowed us to connect, to share our values and to get to know each other better as friends, partners and neighbors. Our countries are more than public policies that come and go–history brings us together and geography unites us. This recognition is proof that if we continue working to grow together, we can develop a promising shared future. On behalf of Televisa and the Spanish-speaking world that we serve, I thank the Academy for this award.”
