Johanna Unzueta When the wind goes wrong

Johanna Unzueta When the wind goes wrong opens with a reception for the artist at 57W57ARTS in Midtown, Manhattan on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm. The exhibition is on view Wednesday – Saturday through April 20.

This is part of several simultaneous solo exhibitions in different rooms in the gallery. When the wind goes wrong is in the gallery’s waiting room.

Unzueta plays with the idea that a waiting room is a transitory space. She considers the way that sitting in a waiting room encourages a state of “non-thinking.” In the background of empty thought, memories surface.
