Julion Alvarez y su Norteño Banda

Julion Alvarez

Julion Alvarez y su Norteño Banda kick off their Mis Idolos…Hoy Mis Amigos Tour (My idols…Today my Friends) in The Theater at Madison Square Garden, Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 8:30pm.

About Julión Álvarez

Julión Álvarez was born in 1983 in La Concordia in Chiapas, Mexico. He won some singing contests when he was young, but nothing came of it.

In 2003, Alvarez joined Banda MS (Mazatlan Sinaloa), a top Regional Mexican group. Regional Mexican is a radio format that includes Banda, Ranchera, Mariachi, Grupero, Conjunto, Tejano, Norteña, and Sierreña. It’s the most popular radio format among Hispanics in the U.S. See you learn something every day.

In 2006, Alvarez set off on his own and formed Julión Alvarez y su Norteño Banda.

Like Mexican culture, Alvarez’ music has many influences. You can hear Polka, Brass, Mariachi, and more. If you are from Mexico or the American southwest, this is the music of home.
