“Los Niños Perdidos” (The Lost Children) is a theatre monologue adapted from Valeria Luiselli’s “Tell Me How it Ends: an Essay in Forty Questions.” It is based on her experience as a translator for migrant kids in need of legal representation.

Migrating to another world is hard enough as an adult. Imagine being an unaccompanied minor with no support – in a world you don’t understand yet. That’s pure courage. Children who do this will become great Americans – if we give them the chance. They have earned it.

Why did you come to the United States? (Because I had nothing to eat, and men with guns were coming.)
