Last Minute Ideas for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day

What does Mom really want for Mother’s Day? She wants to feel loved and beautiful, of course! Here are some last minute things that will make Mom love her baby even more.

Remind Mom that You are her Mini Masterpiece

Linda Mason is the celebrity makeup artist responsible for the way makeup is done at fashion shows around the world today. She is also a great painter. Her “Mini Masterpiece” makeup kits ($155) combine the makeup you need to reproduce a look in a stylish compact with one of Linda’s paintings on the cover. The Masterpiece includes the consultation to select makeup that will make Mom look great.

Take Mom today, Linda’s makeup boutique isn’t open Sunday and get 10% off Mom’s mini masterpiece. She will love you for it.

Make Mom Happy and Full

La Biblioteca is a luxurious bar at Zengo, Richard Sandoval’s Latin-Asian fusion restaurant. La Biblioteca has over 400 bottles of agave spirits from mezcals to tequilas. If Mom really likes the place, you can get her a private locker for her favorite bottles.

You have to go tonight because Zengo is closed on Sunday.

Give Mom Some Happy Feet

Worldtone is THE place in New York to buy dancing shoes for latin, ballroom, swing, tango and salsa. They not only sell shoes to regular people, they are the shoemakers for Broadway, Las Vegas and Hollywood productions. At Worldtone, you can shop where the stars of Broadway and Hollywood get their shoes.

Oh and they have sale now and what Mom doesn’t love a sale?

Show Mom Some Organic Love

GustOrganics is one of my favorite restaurants in the City. It’s the only USDA certified organic restaurant (and bar) in New York City. I’m a meat eater and the owner is Argentine, so they really know how to make a steak. Plus there is something for everyone from vegetarians to people like me.

What My Kids are Giving Me

If you are crazy for soccer and still want to do something for Mom, here you go. My kids are taking me to Smithfield NYC to watch Barcelona try and win the La Liga championship (Spain’s premier league) against Atletico Madrid. Even though I’m pictured here with the Barcelona fan club, I’m rooting for Atletico Madrid because of my countryman Falcao who plays striker for Madrid. My five-year old loves Falcao and I have to admit he is fun to watch.

The food at Smithfield is very good. It is made with local ingredients. They serve craft beers from around the world. I don’t normally hang out at soccer bars, but my family and I like Smithfield and you will too.

The Game is at 1pm, but you have to get there at least 1 hour before to get a table.
