Natalia Lafourcade is a Mexican Pop Rock and Folk singer who is one of the most successful Latin American singers. She blends Pop Rock and Regional Mexican musical traditions.

She was born into a musical family in Mexico City in 1984, but considers herself from Veracruz, Mexico’s Caribbean gateway city. Her father is French Chilean. Her mother is a pianist.

Many Latin artists, once they find their initial success, turn towards their roots. That often turns them into superstars. In our postmodern time of everything all the time, mixed together, heritage can be your superpower.

Lafourcade burst onto the music scene with her self-titled 2022 album. That year she also began contributing to movie soundtracks.

She has won Grammy Awards for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album (2016), Best Regional Mexican Music Album (2021). She has won 13 Latin Grammys as of 2022.
