Flamenco Festival 2017 NYC is at New York City Center Thursday-Sunday, March 9-12, 2017.
Gala Flamenca
Manuel Liñan’s All-Star Gala Flamenca features Juana Amaya, Olga Pericet, Jesús Carmona, Rocío Márquez, and Patricia Guerrero.
Rocío Márquez is a young artist from Huelva, Spain who gained fame for winning the Lámpara Minera at the Festival del Cante de las Minas de la Unión in 2008. Rocío has become a leading figure in the contemporary Flamenco by mixing tradition with the avant-garde.

Olga Pericet’s Pisadas
The Flamenco Festival 2017 closes with the New York premiere of Olga Pericet’s Pisadas. The show explores the origins and rituals of human life with a daring feminist slant.

The Flamenco Festival at New York City Center March 10-19, 2016 brings the world’s best Flamenco dancers and musicians to New York City.
Direct from Andalusia, Spain, the Flamenco Festival at New York City Center includes performances by Farruquito, Compañía Manuel Liñán Nómada, Compañía Rocío Molina Danzaora & Vinática, and Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía.
Farruquito “Improvisao”
March 10-11, 2016
Farruquito (Little Farruco) is Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya (Seville, 1982). He is the youngest of Los Farrucos, the first family of Gypsy flamenco dance. Farruquito is the grandson of Antonio Montoya Flores “El Farruco” (1935-1997).
El Farruco was part of the Montoya dynasty of Flamenco artists. With a Spanish father and Moroccon mother, El Farruco grew up in the gypsy life. His style of dance comes from the streets and back rooms of Andalusia. Later El Farruco built a dance school in Seville that trained many famous Flamenco dancers. He created Los Farrucos with his daughters.
In “Improvisao,” Farruquito continues the family traditions.
Compañía Manuel Liñán “Nómada”

Manuel Liñán is an award-winning Flamenco choreographer. “Nómada” (Nomad) explores how the dynamic patterns and rhythms of human migration made flamenco what it is today. The show mingles deeply rooted traditions with exuberant modern movement and illustrates how Spanish Flamenco is a truly multicultural art.
Compañía Rocío Molina “Danzaora & Vinática”

Rocío Molina (Málaga, 1984) is a young dancer at the forefront of what Flamenco is today. This “Flamenco revolutionary” blends classic Flamenco, classical Ballet, Spanish classical dance, and Spanish Bolero into a uniquely personal style.
Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía “Images: 20 Years”

Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía is recognised as the most important representative of Flamenco art in Spain. It is the New York City Ballet or American Ballet Theatre of Flamenco. “Images: 20 Years” directed by Rafaela Carrasco, is a retrospective of five important works from the Company’s rich repertoire.
Rafaela Carrasco has an international reputation for teaching and choreographing, but she began her career at Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía.
To celebrate the Company’s 20th Anniversary, Carrasco selected a program that includes “Del Maestro” (The Teacher, 1994), “En la oscuridad de la luz” (In the darkness of light, 1997), “La Legend” (The Legend, 2002), “Mirando al Sur” (I’m looking south, 2005), and “Las cuatro esquinas” (The Four Corners, 2013).
Flamenco Festival 2014
Flamenco Festival 2014 is at New York City Center March 6-9.
If you ever wanted to learn to dance flamenco, they are giving free flamenco lessons to ticket holders 90 minutes before show time.
Gala Flamenca
Ángel Rojas brings together four of the world’s best flamenco dancers: Antonio Canales of Nuevo Ballet Español, Carlos Rodriguez, Karime Amaya who is the grand-niece of Carmen Amaya, and the young star Jesús Carmona.
Gala Flamenca is Thursday and Friday March 6-7 at 8pm at New York City Center.

Eva Yerbabuena performs traditional flamenco solos with live musical accompaniment. This is hard core flamenco.

Lluvia
Eva Yerbabuena’s contemporary flamenco show that walks through phases of melancholy modern dance into an extroverted flamenco where she shows her pure dance mastery.
