The Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) in Astoria, Queens is NYC’s museum of film, television, video games, and digital culture. MoMI screens films daily. The collection holds over 130,000 objects. Educational programs serve around 70,000 students every year.

The museum is on the site of the historic 1920 Astoria Studios, now Kaufman Astoria Studios. “Hair,” “The Wiz,” “Goodfellas,” and “Carlito’s Way” were filmed there. TV shows made there include “Sesame Street,” “Orange is the New Black,” and “Law & Order.”

The Jim Henson Exhibition is a popular permanent exhibition. The ongoing Las Premieres screening series is co-produced with Cinema Tropical, one of America’s leading Latin film promoters. Tours are available in Spanish.
