The War of the Yokels | Open Roads New Italian Cinema ~ Film Society of Lincoln Center

Open Roads: New Italian Cinema at Film Society of Lincoln Center is an annual festival of contemporary Italian films with many directors present for Q&As. It is co-presented by Film Society and Istituto Luce Cinecittà.

Films are screened in Italian with English subtitles.

Open Roads: New Italian Cinema 2017

The 17th annual festival is June 1-7, 2017 at the Walter Reade Theater.

Programmers Dennis Lim and Dan Sullivan from Film Society; and Carla Cattani, Griselda Guerrasio, and Monique Catalino from Istituto Luce Cinecittà have selected a slate of 14 films.

Opening Night is Indivisible

Opening night is the New York premiere of Indivisible (2016) by Edoardo De Angelis. It’s an unusual coming-of-age story about identical twins Dasy and Violet, popular Naples teenagers who are conjoined at the hip. Their family exploits the situation. When the twins learn that they can be separated, Dasy falls in love and pursues a new life. Violet does some shrinking.

Director Edoardo De Angelis and co-stars Angela and Marianna Fontana will be present for Q&A at the Thursday, June 1 screening at 6:30pm.
