Paco Peña makes his only NYC appearance this season at the Kaufmann Concert Hall in the 92nd Street Y on Saturday, October 21, 2017.


Paco Peña was born into the Andalusian Guitar

Paco Peña was born in Córdoba, Spain on June 1, 1942. He started playing guitar as a child and turned professional when he was 12 years old.

After working as an accompanist for professional Flamenco companies, Peña moved to London in the late 1960s. There he became an international star who was invited to play with legendary artists on the world’s legendary stages.

Peña is known for his Misa Flamenca (Flamenco Mass) and Requiem for the Earth.

At 75 (in 2017), is one of the living legends of the Flamenco guitar.

Peña makes his only NYC appearance this season at the Kaufmann Concert Hall in the 92nd Street Y on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 8 pm. $25 – $50+

He is joined by special guest guitarists Rafael Montilla and José Fernández.

There is pre-concert talk with Benjamin Verdery, Art of the Guitar artistic director and chair of the Guitar Department of the Yale School of Music.

The 92nd Street Y is the home of classical guitar in New York City.
