Rendez-Vous with French Cinema is Film Society of Lincoln Center’s annual review of the latest French films.

23rd Rendez-Vous with French Cinema 2018

The 23rd Rendez-Vous with French Cinema is in the Walter Reade Theater at Film Society of Lincoln Center for 11 days, Thursday – Sunday, March 8 – 18, 2018. $12 – $20

The Festival is co-presented with UniFrance. It is organized by Florence Almozini and Dennis Lim.

Opening Night Barbara

The opening night film is the U.S. premiere of Mathieu Amalric’s 2017 bio-drama Barbara.

It’s about legendary French singer Monique Andrée Serf (1930 – 1997) whose stage name was Barbara.

The movie tells the story of Brigitte (Jeanne Balibar) an actress cast in a biopic about Barbara. The director mixes real footage with the biopic until it’s not clear what is real and what is cinema.

The film screens with introductions by director Mathieu Amalric and actress Jeanne Balibar.

Thursday, March 8 at 6:30 pm & 9 pm.
