Rocío Molina is a Spanish flamenco dancer known for stretching the boundaries of flamenco internationally.

Friday, March 27, 2020 at 8pm ~ Rocío Molina brings “Caída del Cielo” (Fallen from Heaven). She premiered the show at Chaillot National Theater in Paris, France in 2016.
The dance is a celebration of the female form. Molina may be referencing angels. She may be referencing devils.
She may be referencing the iconic fallen woman [wherever there is a fallen woman, there is a fallen man or partner]. In the way that beauty is ironic, they are all probably one and the same. Who among us hasn’t fallen? Some say it is the natural state of life and that it’s actually being born.

Rocío Molina
Molina was born in Torre del Mar, Andalusía, Spain in 1984. It’s a summer tourist resort on the Mediterranean coast near Málaga.
She started dancing when she was three years old and choreographing at age seven. The artist turned professional at seventeen after graduating from the Royal Dance Conservatory in Madrid. The dancer premiered her first choreography at at 22.
Molina is known for collaborations with artists in other fields. With Jean Paul Goude she has designed for French luxury house Hermès.
She has won the Spanish Ministry of Culture’s National Award for Dance, and awards from the British National Dance Awards, Seville Bienial, and the Province of Malaga.
