Rodrigo y Gabriela is a Rumba Flamenco acoustic guitar duo from Mexico City.
Rumba Flamenco is flamenco of the Americas. It has a Cuban influence and even influenced flamenco back in Spain.
The duo had an unusual start playing in pubs and on the streets in Dublin, Ireland. Music labels wouldn’t pay attention to an acoustic guitar duo, so they released their first album, re-Foc, themselves.
Rodrigo y Gabriela (2006) was a hit in Ireland and garnered worldwide attention. ¡Olé!
